Candid Candidate Hustings: event management

Client:

• LGBT Youth Scotland

Brief

• Work with a cross-organisational departments to devise, create, co-ordinate and deliver a youth politics event aimed at attracting an audience of young people

• Additional activity at the event to Increase the organisation's profile within the Scottish Government during pre-election time (April 2007)

Result:

• Over 100 young people, from all over Scotland,  attended the 'Candid Candidate' Hustings event, on a Friday night in Govan (Glasgow)

• Representatives from The Green Party, Solidarity, SNP (Nicola Sturgeon - who went on to win the seat), Labour, Conservatives and Liberal Party attended to make their election pledges to the young people, and to be quizzed on their policies

• All representatives signed up to pledges to help improve the daily lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender young people

• Young people were provided with information and tools through which they could make their voices heard to their local candidates
