The Wave Singer was a debut novel by Edinburgh based author Greg Michaelson.
It had a UK wide potential, requiring a marketing campaign to launch, raise awareness and build sales.
The Wave Singer was published in August 2008, accompanied by the release of a song, of the same title, by Hercules Mandarin.
The brief was to:
- Promote the book to create an excitement within the Book Trade
- Pre-promote the book to consumers
Results
- Conceived and managed the design of a microsite: www.thewavesinger.com
- Website received over 1,300 unique hits per month in the lead up to publication
- Conceived, managed the design and printing of Sales Materials
- Conceived, managed the design and distributed promotional eshots and email signature banners
- Utilised social media networking: Facebook, Bebo and Myspace
- Social networking achieved over 800 proactive fans of the book before it was published
