Client:

  • Argyll Publishing

Brief:

The Wave Singer was a debut novel by Edinburgh based author Greg Michaelson.

It had a UK wide potential, requiring a marketing campaign to launch, raise awareness and build sales.

The Wave Singer was published in August 2008, accompanied by the release of a song, of the same title, by Hercules Mandarin.

The brief was to:
  • Promote the book to create an excitement within the Book Trade
  • Pre-promote the book to consumers

Results

  • Conceived and managed the design of a microsite: www.thewavesinger.com
  • Website received over 1,300 unique hits per month in the lead up to publication
  • Conceived, managed the design and printing of Sales Materials
  • Conceived, managed the design and distributed promotional eshots and email signature banners
  • Utilised social media networking: Facebook, Bebo and Myspace
  • Social networking achieved over 800 proactive fans of the book before it was published
